Brief History Of Water’s Edge Resort & Spa
This historic New England beach-front resort was transformed from a summer residence into a hotel by Bill Hann in 1941. After sitting idle for many years after the death of Bill and his sister Ruth, It was then taken over by DGG Properties who transformed into Connecticut’s first-ever water-front time-share resort.

Reception Venues
Wedding receptions can be hosted from as little as 20 people up to 300 at any of their three ballrooms. Two of which are waterfront venues that provide incredible views of the sunset and overlook the ocean and manicured gardens.
With their crystal chandeliers, fireplaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows, all reception rooms are decorated perfectly and provide a wonderful backdrop for any style of wedding.
Pricing and Packages
According to Water’s Edge Resort & Spa website, the ceremony rental fee is $895. This fee covers or includes white garden chairs, electricity, indoor backup space, and a rehearsal.
If you would like to make use of their on-site hospitality suite from 9am on the day of the wedding, the fee is $1495. This fee includes the ceremony site fee and use of the hospitality suite for the duration of your wedding for up to 10 people. Additional guests are $15 per person.
Water’s Edge Resort & Spa have their wedding packages available on their website and they can be downloaded here. At the time of writing this article, the wedding package rates displayed on their site are as follows:
Bronze Package – $134 per person for weddings taking place from Sunday to Friday only. Included in this package is the cocktail reception, passed hors d’oeuvres, celebration drinks, an open bar, and dinner entrees.
Silver Package – $154 per person for weddings on any day of the week or weekend. This package offers the same as within the Bronze Package but also includes an Appetizer Course.
Gold Package – $174 per person for weddings taking place any day of the week or weekend. This package includes everything within the Silver Package plus their Signature Cocktail.
Diamond Package – $194 per person for weddings on any day of the week or weekend. This package includes everything as within the Gold Package plus chiavari chairs and late-night snacks.
All prices are subject to a 20% service charge and 7.35% CT sales tax.
