Brief History Of The Mansion at Bald Hill

Located in the quiet corner of Northeast Connecticut, The Mansion at Bald Hill remains to be a historic landmark which now takes on a new life as one of the most elegant wedding venues in the area. Its main structure was built in the 1890s by Clarence W. Bowen and his wife, Roxanna, who was the heiress to the Pullman train fortune. The beautiful mansion was their summer home that sits on 90 acres of manicured gardens. Years passed renovations took place while still maintaining the old mansion’s class and prestige. Presently, it offers private dining and accommodations alongside its iconic patio and banquet center for life’s most important events.

Noteworthy Features

Aside from its amazing ambiance, what makes this Connecticut wedding venue even more appealing is the food. With a team of award-winning chefs running the kitchen, you and your guests are definitely in for a gastronomic treat. There’s no better way to show appreciation to your family and friends for coming down to your special day unlike a sumptuous reception spread!

Accommodations for Ceremonies

The Mansion at Bald Hill offers a 7,500 square feet indoor reception venue called the New Banquet Center. It can accommodate up to 275 guests comfortably as it includes a functioning indoor fireplace and a lounge area. The bar can is highly flexible and you will be given the choice to have it open, partially open, cash, or provide a specific capped amount to control the alcohol consumption and costs. To make things even more convenient, you may also opt to have your cake made by The Mansion’s baker for an additional fee.

As you step outside the grandiose banquet center, you will be welcomed by a spacious patio with an outdoor fireplace, fire pit, and manicured landscaping. The ceremony space comes with a rustic natural archway wrapped with vines and colorful flowers that will make your walk down the aisle as beautiful as you imagined it to be. At the end of the aisle is a vintage, elegant trellis where your soon-to-be-husband awaits. Weather permitting, the outdoor ceremony venue is perfect especially for those looking forward to a garden wedding.
