Tarrywile Mansion is nestled in the rustic northwest Fairfield Country, Connecticut. It boasts the romantic magnificence of the Victorian era. Tarrywile Mansion lets you experience the charming grandeur wedding in the glass conservatory, the gazebo, grape arbor, or the perennial gardens. 

 

The trees manicured and lineup on the driveway will greet you and your guests. You will get a peek of the mansion upon your entrance at the grand front door. Dignified landscapes and hundreds of acres of forested parkland envelope the Tarrywile Mansion. 

 

The mansion shows the refinement and poise of the past era. The Gazebo and the Grape Arbor give an intimate backdrop for an outdoor ceremony. Tarrywile Mansion has three perfect spots for your wedding photos: The Veranda, The Gazebo, and the Grape Arbor. The Veranda is overseeing the Children’s Garden. The Gazebo is wrapped with daffodils and forsythia in spring, peonies, and irises in late spring, and pink roses in summer. The Grape Arbor is admired in summer because of its vines loaded with grapes. 

 

The mansion has a voluminous and ornate entrance hall with a grand staircase, wood decor, and a dazzling herringbone floor. It is bordered by four enormous assembly rooms, which sets an exquisite view for your wedding day.

Brief History Of Tarrywile Mansion

The mansion was opened in 1990 as a community center to give space for events like weddings, birthday parties, business functions, etc. 

 

The park established an environmental education library in 1997 through a grant from the Meserve Memorial Fund. The books in the library vary from preschoolers to adults. It is currently giving the public access to research about flora and fauna. 

 

The Gazebo was built in the orchard area of the upper Mansion in 1999. It was also a grant from Meserve Memorial Fund. The Gazebo provides a venue for small lawn concerts, wedding ceremonies, family photographs, and small lawn concerts. 

 

The CAN organization constructed the meditation garden in 2004. The garden leads and surrounds the Gazebo, it also offers a space for quiet meditation.

Tarrywile Mansion specializes in small numbers to provide an intimate wedding for the soon-to-be husband and wife. Couples can decide any wedding themes like lace, cowboy, royal, and a lot more.

Accommodations for Ceremonies

Full house rental in Tarrywile Mansion includes the first floor, the veranda, kitchen, bride’s room, and groom’s room on the second floor. Wedding ceremonies can be held in the Glass Conservatory, the Gazebo, Grape Arbor, or Perennial Garden with a maximum capacity of 150 guests.

 

The Grape Arbor is the favorite wedding spot, according to the Tarrywile Mansion. The cool breeze and aroma of the garden keep the guests pleased. It is a superb backdrop for spring, summer, and fall weddings.

 

The Veranda is ringed with fascinating garden scenery from Victorian architecture. The Veranda can accommodate up to 100 guests. 

 

The Gazebo is an enchanting wedding venue during autumn and warmer months. It is coated with vivid flowers, which makes it the perfect backdrop for an intimate wedding. The Gazebo is often used for smaller weddings accommodating 20 to 30 guests. Guests will be seated in the adjacent lawn for larger weddings. 

 

The Conservatory has a stunning view of the outdoor plantings and decor. Indoor ceremonies take place in the Conservatory. It can accommodate up to 50 guests to be seated in the drawing-room. 

 

Tarrywile Mansion does not provide a caterer, but they can give you a list of caterers who can cater on your big day. You can also opt for your preferred vendor who is not on the list, but you would have to pay a minimal fee. 

Pricing, Packages, and Potential Fees

According to the wedding spot, the rental fee for a ceremony and reception in the Tarrywile Mansion varies from $1700 to $2400. The fee includes 9 hours of event time plus set-up and clean-up. The weekend rental booked 90 days prior is $1300, which includes 6 hours of event time. Additional hours cost $175 per hour. A weekday event in Tarrywile Mansion costs $75 per hour with a minimum of four hours. 

 

A refundable security deposit of $500 is requisite for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday events, and a refundable security deposit of $150 for weekday events. 

 

Tarrywile Mansion also requires a non-refundable fee of $500 for out of network caterer.
