Brief History Of Roseland Cottage
Roseland Cottage, originally known as Bowen Cottage or Henry C. Bowen House is a colorful Victorian Gothic Revival House designed by Joseph C. Wells in 1846. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, and It was also registered as a National Historic Landmark in 1992.
Weddings at Roseland Cottage
Voted best public garden by Connecticut Magazine, this beautiful outdoor wedding venue has the perfect setting for any garden ceremony with its gorgeous boxwood hedges, perennial gardens, and flowering trees. It provides a perfect backdrop for any garden wedding and photography opportunities.

The Carriage House, with a unique charm, is included in the rental fee and provides a fabulous backup plan in the event your garden ceremony area unavailable in the unfortunate event of bad weather. It can also be used for your cocktail reception for up to 90 guests.
Roseland Cottage can seat up to 60 people in the Carriage House for a seated dinner, but also caters for larger gatherings in a tented reception of up to 150 guests. They provide a list of their exclusive suppliers for catering and tent hire on their website.

Wedding Packages
According to Here Comes The Guide – Rose Cottage is offering a Micro Weddings Package Deal for $695. This provides you with access to the venue for up to 2 hours with a max of 15 guests. The venue can be used for your ceremony and photographs only. No food or alcoholic beverages are permitted for this package. Please contact the venue directly to confirm this deal.
Rental prices for standard weddings of 60-150ppl starts from $1,800 for weddings taking place from Sunday to Friday. Weddings taking place on Saturdays are charged at $2,200. This includes 8 hours of time for the event, setup, and clean up. It also includes the use of the Carriage House, south lawn grounds, two restrooms, kitchen facilities, tables, and 100 folding chairs. Additional hours are available at $200 per hour.
The rental fee supports Historic New England’s mission to preserve and share New England’s heritage. Your fee also provides you one year’s free membership which gives your free admission to Historic New England sites, discounts on merchandise and events, and a subscription to Historic New Englands Magazine.
